Ashley Chung

Piano

Ashley Chung holds a Master of Music in Piano Performance from the University of Ottawa. She was granted full entrance scholarships and studied with David Jalbert and Frédéric Lacroix. Before pursuing further studies, she obtained a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of British Columbia under the tutelage of Miranda Wong. She was granted UBC Lam Lam Scholarship and Mildred Johnson Scholarship in Music. She also completed ARCT Diploma in Piano Performance with her dedicated teacher, Monica Lee.

As a solo performer and collaborative pianist, she performed at numerous concerts across Canada. She was also accepted to several summer programs including NYU (New York) and Orford Musique (Quebec). In addition to her performing experiences, she was the pianist of Calixa-Lavallée Choir under the direction of Professor Laurence Ewashko. She has played in many other choirs, including UBC Women’s Choir, and Vancouver Korean Full Gospel Church Choir.

Ashley also has years of private and group teaching experience where she taught various ages and levels. As a former teacher at Colourstrings Conservatory of Music, (Vancouver, BC) she worked closely with the international Colourkeys trainer Heidi Sarrio. She also brings knowledge to ballet music as she was a piano accompanist at Goh Ballet Academy and Shadbolt Performing Centre. As a dedicated teacher and musician, she is looking forward to sharing her love and passion for music with her students and the people around her.
