5 Things You Want to Know About Music Festival 2021
The BCCM Music Festival has always strived to provide opportunities for students to compete and hear constructive feedback on their performances. As we look forward to hosting Music Festival 2021, we wanted to highlight the most important things that you have to know!
It will be in-person
This is probably the most important thing that you need to know. During a time with many virtual and online experiences, we wanted to ensure that Music Festival 2021 gives students the opportunity to perform in a live environment where they can receive direct and authentic feedback. Social distancing and sanitizing practices will be put into place to ensure the safety of all our participants.

Introducing brand new classes
One of the ways that we accomplish our goal of providing opportunities for students is by adding new experiences. This can be done by adding new classes and expanding categories to reach more students! Here are the classes we are introducing for Music Festival 2021.
Performance Pair Classes for Grades 1 - 8 (Piano)
The performance pair classes give students the opportunity for more performance time while attending Music Festival 2021. Enjoy the flexibility of playing any combination of repertoire or repertoire + study.
Study Pair Classes for Grade 9, 10, & Diploma Level (Piano)
Music Festival 2020 introduced the Study Pair class for Grades 1 - 8. For Music Festival 2021, we are expanding the Study Pair class to include Grade 9, 10 and the Diploma level.
Adult Classes (Strings)
We are expanding our strings classes to include a category for adults.
Trophy & Bursary Winners only
In order to properly social distance, the number of classes will be increased and the number of students in each class will be reduced. As a result, medallions will not be awarded and we will only be presenting trophy & bursary winners for Music Festival 2021.
