Darian Croft
Piano | Theory
Darian Croft started taking piano lessons at the age of four, and quickly fell in love with the instrument. Growing up she always wanted to be a piano teacher, and as of 2011 Darian has been pursuing that dream. Teaching is her passion, and not only in the area of piano. Darian also teaches swimming lessons and courses in lifeguarding, as well as having taught rock climbing to young children for 4 years. Having the experience and qualifications of teaching in other areas has helped Darian grow as a piano teacher. In Spring 2014, she received her Associate Teacher’s Diploma (BCMA), and soon thereafter decided to take her studies abroad.
From July to December of 2014, Darian joined a school called Youth With A Mission in Toowoomba, Australia. YWAM Toowoomba’s focus is on music and worship, and throughout Darian’s time there she was able to grow in her musical abilities of leading worship and song writing. She also had the opportunity to record an original song in a professional recording studio. In Summer 2015, Darian began teaching Music Theory and Piano at the British Columbia Conservatory of Music, the same Conservatory where she received her Teachers Diploma – B.C.M.A.
Darian is a teacher at heart and understands how to get the best out of her students. She is a patient, firm and enthusiastic teacher, who looks to inspire students to reach high levels of achievement while at the same time, enjoying their lessons. Darian loves to share her joy and passion for music with her students. With each lesson, she brings creativity and energy, providing a supportive learning environment and instilling the values of discipline, confidence, and musical curiosity and exploration.
