Gracefulness (Op. 100 No. 8) - Burgmuller

CA$2.50

Gracefulness is an apt title for this study. The main notes on each eighth-note pulse outline the melody while the thirty-second notes are embellishment turns. The turns require disciplined fingertip control not allowing the nail joint to collapse during the execution of each turn. The portato touch a separation of notes, is used in bars 9 through 16 as an effective contrast to the smooth melody line of the first section.

Pages: 1
Tempo: ♩ = 80-84
Grade: Grade 5
Composer: J. F. Burgmuller
Edition: 2022
