Esther Chung was born in South Korea and started to sing before she can speak. She began to play the piano at age 5, and knew at a very early age that music was something she wanted to pursue as a career.
Esther’s talent as a pianist was clear when she won a bronze medal from Moon Sung Piano competition in Seoul Korea when she was 10 years old. She began singing publicly during her university years by singing in an a capella group in Sydney Australia. Esther also has a passion for music arranging and composing. She won a silver medal in a songwriting competition by CBS Korea.
Esther is well known as an Oratorio performer. She performed numerous times as Handel’s Messiah Soprano soloist, with the Langley Oratorio Society, with Trinity Western University Orchestra, and also with local churches in the lower mainland.
