Iris An

Violin

Iris An was born in South Korea, and started to study violin at the age of six. In 1995, she competed in the Kyung Hyang newspaper’s music contest and received first place. She also appeared in solo concerts with the Busan Symphony Orchestra in 2001. She received her Bachelor of Music from Dong-A University in Busan, and also has her BCCM Licentiate Performance Diploma for violin. Iris was a member of both the Burnaby Symphony Orchestra and the Pilgrim Orchestra. She has been teaching since 1999, and she has taught at schools such as Dong-A Music Academy and Sori Moa Music Academy in South Korea, and the Pacific Music School in Vancouver.
