Sarah Pak

Hee-Kyung Pak, a native of Korea, began her musical studies at an early age. She attended the Yewon School, where she studied with Nak-Ho Paik. During her early years, she gave numerous recitals in Korea and performed twice as a soloist with the Korean Symphony Orchestra. In 1979, she entered the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Houston, Texas. After graduation, she continued her studies at Rice University under William H. Chaisson. Between 1979 and 1986, Ms. Pak won several prestigious competitions, including the Houston Symphony Competition, the Ima Hogg National Competition, and the Corpus Christi Young Artist Competition. She also appeared as a soloist with the Houston Symphony and the Beaumont Symphony Orchestra. In 1987, Ms. Pak continued her studies at the Manhattan School of Music with Zenon Fishbein, where she earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. In 1988, she made her debut at Carnegie Hall. She later performed as a soloist with the Pilgrim Orchestra in 2005. Throughout her career, Ms. Pak has presented solo recitals across the United States, Korea, Italy, and Vancouver. She has participated in the Musicisti Americani Festival in Italy and the Adamant Music Festival in the United States. In addition to her performing career, Ms. Pak has been a dedicated educator for over 30 years, teaching private students and serving on the faculty of several music schools.
