Tammy Shung
Piano
Tammy Shung is a passionate piano instructor, dedicated mother of three, and a successful designated Chartered Accountant (CA-CPA). Teaching is her passion. She grew up in Alberta playing both the violin and piano at the age of 5. She performed regularly in the Edmonton and St. Albert Kiwanis festivals as well as performing in a local orchestra. She subsequently taught piano privately. She completed her Grade 10 piano from the Royal Conservatory of Music and received first-class honors in completing her Piano Pedagogy Certification from the British Columbia Conservatory of Music. Tammy is a certified teacher with the Royal Conservatory of Music.
In addition to Tammy’s love of music, she obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Alberta and Diploma in Accounting from the University of British Columbia. In 2005, she became a designated Chartered Accountant and has worked for some of the largest companies in BC. The cognitive connection between music and math has featured prominently in her life and has helped her succeed in business and finance as well as piano education. For Tammy, teaching piano is a passion. She specializes in teaching young children and introducing newcomers of all ages to music.
