Tina Park

Violin

Violinist Tina Park holds a Bachelor of Music Degree from University of Victoria and a Master of Music in Literature and Performance from the University of Western Ontario. While on a full academic scholarship at Western, Tina was a Graduate Teaching Assistant and was a recipient of many awards and scholarships, including the London Music Scholarship Foundation Competition prize winner in 2012. She has held Concertmaster positions playing with the University of Toronto Symphony and the University of Western Ontario Symphony Orchestras.

Tina has performed in many solo and chamber masterclasses given by world renowned violinists such as Joel Smirnoff, Andres Cardenes, Pinchas Zukerman, Monica Hugget, Miriam Fried, the Lafayette Quartet, St.Lawrence String Quartet and Gryphon Trio. She has performed extensively across North America performing with the National Academy Orchestra, National Youth Orchestra, Banff Festival Orchestra, Galiano Ensemble and Orchestra London. She also has held tenured Section Violin position, in conjunction with playing Acting Principal Second Violin, with Thunder Bay Symphony and she has just recently being playing as a full time member with the Victoria Symphony for the past two seasons.

Tina has been teaching violin for over 8 years in Greater Vancouver, Victoria and Toronto regions; her students ranging in all ages and levels of experience. She also has been highly sought out as a string orchestra coach and has given string sectionals in University of Toronto Chamber Orchestra, Thunder Bay Youth Orchestra and Pacific School of Music Summer Orchestra. As a big advocator for music education and promoting classical music to the younger generation she has taken part in the University of Victoria’s string mentorship program and taught string programs all across the Greater Victoria School District. Currently, Tina is a faculty member at the British Columbia Conservatory of Music where she is teaching violinists both traditional and Suzuki methods to establish solid foundations to excel as Violinists.
