MUSIC LESSONS
Woodwinds
There are many styles available to learn with the wide range of instruments in the woodwinds category. Regardless of the style of music, a solid musical foundation is essential, which is why we a traditional, reading-focused method of learning is implemented. Students will start by using the conservatory grading system from Preliminary to the Diploma level. Additionally, private lessons have been essential in helping students prepare for school bands as well as symphony and orchestra auditions. The following instruments are available to learn: Flute, Clarinet, Piccolo, Oboe, and Saxophone.
Lesson Length
Lessons tend to range from 30 minutes to 60 minutes depending on the level of the student. A guideline for the length of lessons is:
Pre-Grade - Grade 2
30 Minutes
Grade 3 - Grade 6
45 Minutes
Grade 7 - Diploma
60 Minutes

High School Credit
Students can receive high school credit upon completing their string and theory exams for Levels 6, 7, and 8. Certificates are given to students who pass both their practical and theory exams and can present their certificate as their Fine Arts Credit.
